The Beginning
Ferguson was chartered in 1968 to serve the employees of the lumber mill in Monticello. What began in a single vacant office quickly grew into a member‑owned credit union known for personal service and hometown values.
As our membership grew, we opened a branch near the mill and continued serving families and local businesses with a small team dedicated to doing what’s right for our members.

Growth
In 2014, Ferguson petitioned the NCUA to expand our field of membership. We were granted the opportunity to serve all of Lawrence County and later an additional 11 counties across Southwest Mississippi. Along the way, we introduced new products, services, and student‑run branches so more neighbors could bank locally.
Today we continue to innovate while keeping the small‑town spirit you expect from your credit union.

For more than 50 years, Ferguson has focused on one purpose: improving the lives of those in the communities we serve. We work to offer great service, fair pricing, and tools that make managing money easier—without losing our hometown touch.
